The Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) supports the University policy prohibiting discrimination and harassment of any person on the basis of their membership in a protected category. As part of this work, OPHD responds to complaints from persons who believe they have been subjected to discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation on the basis of a protected category or activity. OPHD also has responsibility for preparing the annual written Affirmative Action Plan and program for minorities and women, persons with disabilities, and covered veterans. The UCSF Office for the Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination (OPHD) supports the University policy prohibiting discrimination against or harassment of any person on the basis of their membership in a protected category 1 and is responsible for the UCSF written affirmative action plan for minorities and women, for persons with disabilities, and for covered veterans. During the 2017-2018 fiscal year, OPHD received and responded to 352 internal complaints alleging discrimination and/ or harassment based on protected categories described in the Sexual Violence/Sexual Harassment Policy and the Nondiscrimination Policy. These complaints included 522 allegations of harassment and/or discrimination. News Because of a recent California appellate court ruling, the University has revised its Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment Student Adjudication Framework to clarify when hearings are held to resolve sexual misconduct cases. The Systemwide Title IX Office and Student Affairs has developed a presentation to help educate UC community members about the changes.
